Jane Campbell Celebrates 103 Birthday

The community of Quare Road, Valencia celebrated a huge achievement when beloved resident Jane Campbell celebrated her 103rd birthday.

Born November 8, 1920, the staunch Roman Catholic attributes her longevity to a combination of spiritual well-being and a healthy lifestyle.

“My secrets for living long include eating healthy and putting God first in everything I do” she said.

Tanty Jane, as she is fondly called, has lived in the area all her life and recalls the area being quite different from when she grew up.

Ms. Campbell also indicated  she operated as a part-time water carrier during the making of the Valencia Old Road, however, her primary responsibility was taking care of loved ones in her family.

She further stated that the best advice she has for this generation, is to trust in God and stay out of trouble.

She however, lamented the crime situation and its impact on the younger generation.
