Man charged with knowingly negotiating ransom for businesswoman Narine-Boodhoo

A man identified as Jason Brown aka Abdul Karim was reportedly charged with knowingly negotiating ransom in the kidnapping of El Socorro businesswoman, Anesha Narine-Boodhoo.

Brown is expected to appear before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate to be charged for the offense.

On Friday 29th December, 2023: Boodhoo was kidnapped outside her Family’s business place Auto Rama Limited by four men who bundled her into a black Toyota SUV registered PDY 1325 with blue flashing lights.

A report was made to the police and a multi-pronged approach was coordinated by the Commissioner of Police Mrs Erla Christopher which included the Anti-kidnapping Unit, the NED Operations and CID, the Research and Analytical Unit, the C.S.M.U, the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, the offices of the ACP, s Criminal and Tactical Divisions, the Strategic Services Agency, the Legal Officer Asp Teesdale, SIU and other internal stakeholders within the TTPS.

As a result, extensive enquiries were conducted and on Tuesday 2nd January 2024, at around 3:00am, Neel Boodoo received information that his wife Anesha was outside their residence with Brown.

Anesha was then released and taken to seek medical attention.

Brown was subsequently arrested and taken to the Barataria Police Station to be lodged for safekeeping.
