Cops hold man for chopping incident in La Brea

A man was arrested after he repeatedly chopped a 64-year-old man in La Brea on Sunday 7th January, 2024.

Around 1:00pm, the victim was at Marshall Street when he reportedly got into a physical altercation with a 39-year-old man.

The suspect then armed himself with a cutlass and dealt the victim several chops before fleeing the scene.

The victim raised an alarm and the police and paramedics were notified.

When the officers arrived at the scene they conveyed the injured man to the Pt Fortin Hospital, where he received medical treatment.

The officers carried out investigations and managed to arrest the suspect who was taken to the Point Fortin Police Station on inquiries.
