TTPS Does Not Have Interception Equipment

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Services does not have the equipment to do the interception the Strategic Services Agency does.

This information is disclosed by the Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley.

He was at the time responding to reports of a spy unit operating within the TTPS.

It was revealed a former Commissioner of Police procured interception equipment.

However, the government requested the equipment be removed from within the Police Service and be placed with the SSA.

The information was revealed during the weekly post cabinet news briefing held at White Hall on Wednesday afternoon.
