A 21-year old man is expected to be charged sometime today for larceny.
On Sunday 21st February, 2021, Sangre Grande officers were conducting an exercise duty in the district when they received a distress call.
A 46-year-old woman was in the vicinity of George Street, Sangre Grande, when a man snatched her handbag and ran off. The woman raised an alarm.
The Eastern Division Task Force and the Emergency Response Patrol officers responded and made their way to the scene of the incident.
Officers were driving along the same road when they spotted a man fitting the description of the assailant.
The officers captured the suspect a short distance away with the stolen item. The officers retrieved the stolen handbag, which had $228 cash and a Samsung A30S valued at $2,200.
The suspect of, Sadoo Trace, Manzanilla, was arrested immediately by WPC Yorke.
