Quantities of marijuana, ammunition and camouflage clothing were seized by officers of the Port of Spain Division Task Force during an Operation Strike Back exercise in the Port of Spain Division. The exercise was conducted between the hours of 1 am and 5:30 am Friday December 17th, 2021.
Based on intelligence, the officers proceeded to a house in Sea Lots, where a search was conducted for arms and ammunition.
During the search, four rounds of 5.56 ammunition were discovered concealed inside of a mattress. A 44-year-old man was arrested in connection with the find.
As the exercise continued, the officers conducted a search at a house in Belmont, where officers discovered and seized one camouflage jersey, along with three military caps, one camouflage rag, and 130 grammes of marijuana. A 30-year-old man who was in the house at the time of the search was arrested in connection with the finds.
Charges are expected to be laid as a result of the investigation.
