Police arrest 12 and seize guns, ammunition and drugs in Operation Strike back in Maloney

An Operation Strike Back 3 exercise conducted in Maloney Tuesday resulted in the arrest of 12 men and the seizure of one firearm, and a quantity of ammunition and drugs.
One AR-15 rifle, a PMAG D-60 drum magazine, 48 rounds of 5.56 ammunition and five kilogrammes of marijuana, were seized during the execution of seven search warrants in the area.
Three men were arrested in connection with the find.

Additional arrests during the exercise included that of a 28-year-old man from Maloney Gardens for possession of six rounds of ammunition.
He is also assisting police in relation to a report of wounding that occurred earlier this year.

A 22-year-old man, as well as a 32-year-old soldier attached to the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment, both of Maloney Gardens, were also arrested in relation to separate incidents that occurred earlier this year.

Six other persons ranging in age from 19 to 37, all of Maloney Gardens were arrested for assembling to gamble and breach of curfew.
Enquiries are ongoing.
The exercise which was conducted between the hours of 5 pm and 12 am was coordinated by ACP Andy Belfon and other officers.
