PNM Stalwart Martin Terry Rondon Has Passed Away

Former Sangre Grande Regional Corporation Chairman, Martin Terry Rondon, has passed away.

Confirmation of this comes from Works and Transport Minister, Rohan Sinanan, in the Senate on Tuesday just before he responded to a question on the order paper.

Sinanan also sent condolences to Mr Rondon’s family and recognised his  long years of service for the country.

Rondon began his political career as a Local Government Representative in 1996 at the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation.

The Matelot born Mr Rondon has served the burgesses of the Sangre Grande Region and by extension Trinidad and Tobago for many years.

He served as Chairman of the Sangre- Grande Regional Corporation for two Council Terms (2013-2016) and (2016-2019).

Rondon also served as Councillor for Valencia East/Toco.

In 2022, Mr Rondon received the Hummingbird gold medal, after 27 years of public service.
