There is a suggestion that issues surrounding funding to political parties be addressed with a level of urgency.
The proposal comes from long standing member of the People’s National Movement, Ferdie Ferreira.
Mr Ferreira made the appeal while speaking on the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102 Digital Monday.
Mr Ferriera said he has no issue with members of the business community deciding to financial support the political party of their choice.
However, the PNM stalwart made it clear that politicians should not allow business people to control them because of the amount of money they give to political parties.
Mr Ferreira cited numerous instances in the past where allegations of misconduct have taken place in public office but the appropriate follow through have not happened.
