Chairman of the Princes Town Regional Corporation, Gowrie Roopnarine immediately responded to and solved an issue which occurred at the Princes Town Market Facility.
On Monday, a report was posted with the vendors of the market who expressed their dissatisfaction with the market being closed for renovations with Divali and Christmas quickly approaching.
A statement by the Corporation said Chairman Roopnarine immediately visited the market where he addressed the media. He then met with all the vendors of the market where they all agreed on a way forward from the present situation. A resolution was accomplished and the market vendors were in full agreement.
It said the market renovation project was awarded by the Central Tenders Board (CTB) and the Princes Town Regional Corporation had no control over the timing of the award of the contract, however, the vendors were in full agreement that the work at the market must continue. Mr Roopnarine is making alternative arrangements for the vendors to continue to sell so that they are able to earn an income during these times.
