PM to speak on serious matters of National Security next Tuesday

Prime Minister Keith Rowley says he will be addressing issues of national security when he hosts a media conference next Tuesday, 6th February.

He made the announcement while closing off his media briefing on Friday at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann’s following his return from Washington DC.

It came after several questions were posed to him about the recent Joint Select Committee meeting on National Security, which featured Police Commissioner Erla Harewood Christopher.
The Top Cop had admitted that her crime plans for 2023 had failed.

When asked about criticisms that Harewood-Christopher’s apparent shortfalls also reflect poorly on him, he again promised to answer all at Tuesday’s conference.

The Prime Minister said there were some “troubling internal issues” which were discussed with US officials, and involved international organised criminals.
