Tancoo claims Young was always a de facto Energy Minister

UNC chairman Dave Tancoo said Stuart Young’s appointment was no surprise because “it is an open secret that Young was de facto minister of energy.”

He claimed Young’s participation with the Prime Minister in overseas talks with energy multinational companies were an example of that.

Young and former Energy Minister Franklin Khan were part of Rowley’s delegation for talks with Shell and British Petroleum (BP) in London in April 2018. Young accompanied Rowley to Texas in March 2017 for talks with BP Amoco, Shell, Exxon Mobil and EOG Resources.

Tancoo, speaking to the Newsday, said “Just when you think Government could not possibly do worse, it does.”
