Parliament has approved the decision to appoint Deputy Commissioner of Police McDonald Jacob to the post of Acting Commissioner of Police.
This following the Notification of Her Excellency, the President Paula Mae Weekes in respect of the nomination of Mr. Mc Donald Jacob, for appointment to act in the Office of Commissioner of Police.
The debate was raised by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley in the House of Representatives on Friday, with only Opposition Oropouche East Dr Roodal Moonilal replying before National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds responded.
When put to a vote, all 22 Government members voted in favour, all Opposition members abstained and no one voted against it.
