Opposition Wants TT To Leverage Current Presidency Of UN To Inspire Discussions To End Gaza Genocide

The Opposition is asking the government to leverage Trinidad and Tobago’s current presidency of the United Nations to inspire discussions to end what it describes as the genocide of residents of Gaza.

It says the United Nations has, most appropriately, denounced the grave violations by Israel and the brutal attempt to destroy the Palestinian residents of Gaza.

It says the bombardment and siege of Gaza are grossly unacceptable to all of humanity, and Trinidad and Tobago has an important responsibility to be proactive and vigilant.

UNC claims even though Trinidad and Tobago is a small island State, a resolute approach in collaboration with international partners and Mr. Francis’ leadership at the UN could stir further international action and possibly result in an end to the military activity.
