New Minister in MOWT ready to help alleviate problems of flooding

Newly-appointed Minister in the Ministry of Works and Transport Richie Sookhai said he knows there is work to be done and he is ready for the challenge.

Sookhai was sworn to his new post on Friday, and in a brief interview he did with AZP on Saturday, he said he hopes there will be less flooding in the upcoming rainy season as he seeks to help his ministry alleviate such problems.

Sookhai said he will find out on Monday what his tasks will be when he speaks with Minister of Works and Transport Rohan Sinanan.

He was appointed a senator in January to replace Kangaloo who resigned as Senate President to be elected T&T’s seventh President.

He told the media hous that he knew there were issues with drainage and roads in T&T and will find on Monday what assistance he can render to fix these problems.
