“We did not get to this position by accident. It was by careful advanced planning, driven by the professional assessment of our public health care officers who, very early in January, advised the Government and our planning began since then.” Rowley stated in the post.
The Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Rowley, Minister of Health, Terrance Deyalsingh and Cheif Medical Officer Roshan Parasram toured the newly built Arima General Hospital this morning. This is Government’s response to Covid-19 preparations.
In a Facebook post the Prime Minister stated the Arima General Hospital was prepared with the highest level of care. He also visited the Trinidad and Tobago National Raquet Centre in Tacarigua which has been converted into a 50-bed, step-down facility.
Persons who are at the step-down facility in Tacarigua will be able to use the sporting amenities.
A visit was also made of the accommodations at the National Academy for the Performing Arts which will be used to house medical staff.
