National Security shakeup as Brigadier General Phillips- Spencer is appointed Acting Head of the Strategic Security Agency

A major shakeup in National security as Ambassador Brigadier General Phillips- Spencer is appointed Acting Head of the Strategic Security Agency.

The Office of the Prime Minister said the move was done on the instruction of the Prime Minister.

Spencer has returned from Washington and on an instrument from the President has been appointed to Head the SSA.

The OPM said the National Security Council recommended to the Cabinet the Head of the SSA be replaced immediately and new leadership and management be installed with despatch.

This recommendation has been affected and as of Saturday 2nd March, 2024 the head of the SSA has been sent on administrative leave.

Ambassador Phillips-Spencer is currently engaged in initiating an extensive review and audit of all personnel, equipment, and processes within the SSA.

Ambassador Phillips-Spencer replaces Major Roger Best as Acting Head of the Strategic Security Agency. Major Best has been sent  on administrative leave.
