Family believes body found in Barrackpore, is missing Prison officer Alexander Johnson.

A burnt, decomposing body found in Barrackpore, hanging from a tree in a teak forest off of Cumuto Road, Barrackpore, is believed to be that of a 35 year old, missing prison officer.  Alexander Johnson, was reported  missing by his family on January 17. The body was found hanging by a group of hunters who alerted his family, who lives a few kilometres away.

The father of four was last seen at the family’s home in Barrackpore at around 9.30 am on January 17 wearing a brown T-shirt and black short pants. His car, wallet, cell phone and wedding ring were found in the house.

Anastasha Thomas who is identified as a relative of the missing prison officer said that the family believed the body to be that of Alexander Johnson. She said the body matched his description and the clothing refected what he was reportedly last seen wearing. They believe he died by suicide. Investigations are continuing.
