The MV Galleons Passage has been taken out of service to undergo its annual CLASS Recertification.
This enables the vessel to obtain its permit to operate.
Confirmation of this comes from the National Infrastructure Development Company Limited.
In a media release on Monday, NIDCO said the current certification process requires dry-docking of the vessel.
However, since the local dry dock facility is now unavailable, NIDCO has been working with dry docks in the region to secure a suitable facility.
The public will be advised further when these arrangements are finalized.
In the meantime, the APT James and the Buccoo Reef will continue to accommodate all passengers travelling between Trinidad and Tobago.
