Government is being asked by Member of Parliament for Mayaro, Rushton Paray, to consider the suggestions outlined at the Opposition’s news briefing held last Sunday, entitled “State of the Economy.”
In a media release Thursday, MP Paray suggested there is need for the ruling administration to introduce effective policies to keep businesses afloat during this critical period.
MP Paray said for example, many countries initiated policies that constrained commercial banks to provide various support packages to deserving business clients.
The Opposition MP said the overall weakened national economy and the absence of diversification have also severely reduced consumers’ ability to spend on consumables.
