MoH names three persons on PAHO team to investigate babies’ deaths

The Ministry of Health has revealed the names of the three persons who form part of the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) investigative team, which will be probing the premature deaths of several babies at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Port of Spain General Hospital.

They are Dr Nalini Singh, Professor Emeritus-in-residence, Professor of Pediatrics, Global Health and Epidemiology, The George Washington University, Washington DC, USA; PAHO International Consultant, Dr Grisel Rodriguez based in Uruguay and Newborn Intensive Care Specialist and Head of the Neonatal Care Intensive Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados Dr. Gillian Birchwood.

The Ministry of Health has revealed a detailed list of the expert’s educational back ground, qualifications and employment.

It says it is also looking forward to the outcome of the investigation.
