MoH advises of Kinder products recall due to Salmonella

The Ministry of Health (MoH) is advising the public of the voluntary recall of a number of products manufactured by the Ferrero USA Inc., Parsippany, New Jersey.

These products were manufactured in a facility where Salmonella Typhimurium was detected.

As a result of the detection, a voluntary recall was initiated by the manufacturer in the US and published by the USFDA. The UK’s Food Standard Agency (FSA) also advised the public not to consume the products.

The local agent has confirmed that they have not imported any of the recalled products. However, since there may be other independent importers, the MoH is advising the public to avoid purchasing any of the listed products.

Some common symptoms that may be exhibited by a person infected with the Salmonella species include:
*Fever
*Diarrhoea
*Nausea
*Vomiting
*Abdominal Pains

If you or a member of your family has consumed any of these products or are exhibiting any of the above symptoms, please contact your health care provider.

Consumers can conduct the Chemistry Food and Drug Division (CFDD) @ 623 5242 or [email protected] for further information.
