The murder count now stands at 27 for the first 16 days of January 2024 after two people were shot dead in Morvant on Tuesday night.
The two were among a group of eight that were shot at gang style.
One other persons were critically injured.
The incident took place at around 8pm at Paradise Heights, Morvant, when a black Nissan X-trail pulled up and men dressed in police gear jumped out of the vehicle.
The suspects ordered the group to stay put, then began shooting.
The dead men have been identified as 27-year-old Shakeem Dennis and Israel McClaren, 19.
