Three persons suspected to be members of an Organized Crime Group were arrested after police conducted an intelligence-led exercise in Penal Thursday.
Information was received by an intelligence unit within the TTPS, which revealed an organized crime group was involved in a recent spate of robberies in the Southern Division, the proceeds of which were being used to
fund other criminal activities.
Based on the information received, the officers executed a search warrant at a hotel in Penal where several items that were reported stolen from a recent robbery were found.
The items found included, 27 packs of cigarettes, three used cell phones, three parcels of coins of varying denominations, a chop saw, a mini welding plan, a circular saw, a spray gun, two impact drills, three sandwich makers, two extension cords, several coveralls, two floor tile setters, a quantity of food stuff and other miscellaneous items.
Three persons suspected to be members of the organized crime group werearrested, and the items were seized.
