Police arrested a 33-year-old man on Wednesday, as he was trying to break into the Massy Foods outlet in Chaguanas.
Reports are that around 2:40am officers received a report of an alarm being sounded at the store in Mid Centre Mall.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a hole in the glass on the northern side of the building and the suspect was seen inside the supermarket, packing items into bags.
He was apprehended and taken to the Chaguanas Police Station.
