Listen: Prakash Ramadhar says he has embarked on legal action against Paria on behalf of families

ATTORNEY Prakash Ramadhar is maintaining his call for State-owned Paria Fuel Trading Co to make ex-gratia payments of at least $5 million to each of the families of Fyzal Kurban, Kazim Ali Jr, Yusuf Henry and Rishi Nagassar, the four divers who lost their lives in a pipeline incident at Paria in February 2022.

The deaths of the four divers, who were employed by LMCS Ltd to carry out maintenance work at Paria, were the subject of a Commission of Enquiry (CoE), with the findings of that enquiry being placed in the hands of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

Mr Ramadhar who was guest on the Power Breakfast Show this morning said that he has already embarked on civil action on behalf of the families.

He said the decent thing on the part of the company would be to avoid an unnecessary court battle and award the family the money that they deserve.
