Reinforcing cooperation in the areas of migration, border security and prison reform, as well as capacity building and training for police officers.
These matters were discussed when Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds met with High Commissioner of Canada His Excellency Kumar Gupta Thursday.
Minister Hinds welcomed the opportunity to meet with the High Commissioner and expressed appreciation for the high level of bilateral cooperation which exists between the Governments of Trinidad and
Tobago and Canada.
High Commissioner Gupta highlighted the mutual security interests of both countries and stated his intention to advance collaborative
opportunities discussed with Minister Hinds.
Both parties committed to furthering the longstanding partnership between the two countries, so as to ensure a safer and more secure Trinidad and Tobago.
The meeting took place at the Ministry of National Security, Abercromby Street, Port of Spain.
