Local Government elections must be held.
So says attorney at law- Larry Lalla SC.
Speaking with Power 102 Digital’s Power Breakfast Show this morning, Mr Lalla said the Privy Council ruling against the Government could have gone either way.
He pointed out that regardless of one views however, the Privy Council is the highest court of the land and the Local Government elections must be held.
Mr Lalla said from his understanding of the ruling, the Local Government officials in office are now occupying their office illegally.
Mr Lalla noted that the judgement is almost one week old and there is still no word from the Government on the next step.
He called on Prime minister Dr Keith Rowley to speak out on the issue and address the valid concerns being raised.
