Karen Nunez-Tesheira remains “positive” as PNM internal elections process begins

Nomination for internal elections for the Peoples National Movement began today at 8 am.

All 15 positions are up for grabs, including that of political leader, which is currently held by Dr Keith Rowley who is also the Prime Minister.

Nominations are expected to be filed at the PNM’s Central Regional Office in Chaguanas.

There is no word yet on whether Dr Rowley will file his nomination today.

However, his challenger for the post, former Finance Minister Karen Nunez-Tesheira, is at this moment, believed to be on her way to file her nomination papers.

Speaking with News Power Now this morning, she indicated that she planned to file the papers around lunch time today.

Political analysts have given Mrs Nunez-Tesheira an uphill chance of unseating Dr Rowley but she remains positive noting that she has a good team around her.

Voting in the PNM internal election is expected to take place on November 26 and 27, for special voters, and again on December 4.
