The Joint Trade Union Movement is calling for a detailed probe to be held into the action of police at a recent march at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain.
At one stage into the event officers used tear gas to restore order to the proceedings.
The protesters were demonstrating against the government’s planned safe zone policy for the public sector.
Speaking at news briefing outside the Police Administration Building in Port of Spain Friday, President of the Joint Trade Union Movement, Ancil Roget, told reporters the incident should be investigated in a proper manner.
The trade unionist said the labour movement will resist any attempts to introduce mandatory covid-19 vaccination.
