The Opposition Will Not Attend Monday’s Senate Sitting

The Opposition indicates it will not attend Monday’s sitting of Senate.

This is disclosed by Opposition Senator, Wade Mark.

Opposition Senator, Wade Mark, claimed there was no consultation on this issue.

It is a form of protest over the holding of the Senate sitting scheduled for June 26th which is also Nomination Day for the Local Government Election.

On August 14th the Local Government Election will take place.

Speaking at a news briefing held at the UNC’s Head Office, Charles Street, Port of Spain, on Sunday, Senator Mark claimed in the past there has never been a sitting of the Senate on the same day as nomination day for the Local Government Election.
