Serious allegations have been raised by Independent Senator, Evans Welch, concerning the refunds for Value Added Tax and other aspects relating to the VAT.
Fraud on the system and counterproductive is how Senator Welch described the situation adding while many companies are complying with the requirement there are some which are not adhering to the requirements.
Speaking during the Budget Debate in the Senate on Friday, Senator went into details concerning the seriousness of the development and the challenges which can arise.
Senator Welch said ways must be found on enforcement of tax compliance instead of some waiting on what he described as the predictable nature of tax amnesty.
