High-powered ammunition recovered in Port of Spain

A Joint Army and Police Patrol in the Port of Spain Division between July 13th and 14th 2021, led to a quantity of high powered ammunition being recovered.
Around 10 pm on Tuesday 13th July 2021, PCs Cupidore and Aguillera attached to the Port of Spain Task Force, with two members of the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment, received information which led them to an abandoned structure at Tillbury Place, Laventille.
Checks of the surrounding area of the structure turned up 22 rounds of 5.52 ammunition concealed in a white plastic bag, hidden in a busy area. The ammunition was seized and investigations into the find are continuing.
At the abandoned structure the officers also observed 15 marijuana trees approximately 5 feet tall.
The trees were uprooted and destroyed.
