Gary Griffith maintains that he is still the Acting Commissioner of Police despite reports to the contrary.
He reiterated his position this morning while speaking on the Power Breakfast Show following legal advice last week which declared his appointment null and void.
Senior Counsel Rolston Nelson last week claimed that Griffith’s appointment was invalid as he was not a serving officer when he was given the post and as such his appointment should have gone to the Parliament.
Griffith rebutted the advice as he told Power 102 Digital that he was appointed to act in the position prior to the end of his previous contract and added that being on vacation does not negate his position.
