Two men were arrested by officers of the Stolen Vehicles Squad this week for possession of a stolen vehicle following months of investigations.
Detectives investigating the larceny of a white Nissan Sentra motor vehicle from the St. Joseph district in February 2023, seized a white Nissan Sentra motor vehicle with evidence of alleged tampering of its chassis and engine numbers.
Two male suspects, a 30-year-old and 28-year-old both of Arima, were arrested in connection with the matter.
They are expected to be charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate on Monday 17th July, 2023.
Meanwhile, a 26-year-old man was arrested by officers of the North Central Task Force, East, who conducted an intelligence-led exercise between 2 pm and 6 pm, on Thursday 13th July, 2023, during which inquiries were conducted into several reports of violent robberies in the Trincity district.
During the exercise, officers conducted extensive surveillance and coordinated patrol in and around Malls and Banks in the area.
As a result, one male suspect was held in connection with a report of Robbery with Violence and Wounding with Intent which occurred in the Arouca district on June 26th, 2023.
The suspect’s vehicle was also seized.
