Griffith chastises PoL Com, PM on comments that crime is trending downwards

Former Police Commissioner Gary Griffith says Harewood – Christopher’s recent comments on crime shows the low standards reached in the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.

Commenting on Harewood Christopher’s assertion that is proof of the decline in murders in Trinidad and Tobago, Griffith says that this is not supported in crime statistics for this year.

He said that the Police Commissioner is patting herself on the shoulder when there is absolutely nothing to celebrate.

He said what’s worse is that other senior officers are supporting her statements.

He also took the Prime Minister to task for condoning the police Commissioner’s comments.

Griffith accused Harewood Christopher of spewing the same rhetoric as Police Commissioners in the past who blamed the high level of crime on everyone else but themselves.
