An 18-year-old girl living in India put her life on the line after swallowing a cell phone during a fight with her brother to stop him from getting it.
A report in the New York Post states that the siblings were reportedly fighting over the gadget when the sister decided no one was going to have it.
“As tempers flared during their argument, she took an impulsive step by swallowing the cell phone,”
An unnamed doctor performed the surgery on the teen in India.
She had to be rushed to the Jaya Arogya Hospital in the city of Gwalior, according to the outlet.
Upon arrival, the teen was given a CT scan, X-ray, and ultrasound.
Doctors revealed that they weren’t able to extract the device, leaving surgery as the only alternative.
The teen underwent a two-hour operation. Fortunately, the phone was removed and she remains in stable condition.
