Gary Griffith issue could be similar to Section 34 scenario says former PSC member

The Police Service Commission’s handling of the Gary Griffith issue could be similar to a Section 34 scenario.

That’s the claim being made by former PSC member Martin George.

Mr George, commenting on President Her Excellency Paula-Mae Weekes’ statement on the matter, suggested that the cause of the issue remains unclear.

He says the mixed messages from those in authority regarding the Police Service Commission and its handling of the Gary Griffith issue does nothing to bring clarity to the matter.

Mr George added that he agreed with the belief that the legislation is flawed but noted that there is still no clarification on where the blame should lie.

Comparing the situation to the Section 34 scandal seen during the People’s Partnership administration, he told Power 102 Digital that the situation should be examined fully as the motive behind the change in legislation is important.
