A 70-year-old man died in a fire around 6:20p.m last evening.
According to reports, neighbours noticed smoke coming from the house of Himraj Dasent and rushed to his aid with buckets of water. But they were too late. When the blaze was contained, they found the charred remains of Dasent on his bed. The elderly man was said to be ailing.
Investigations are continuing into the cause of the fire.
