A man entered Barataria Secondary School this morning and had an altercation with security guards. The man was eventually shot by police officers.
Reports indicate that the man stormed the school early this morning and attacked the security guards. The guards tried to restrain him but the man, who police believed is mentally unstable, broke free of the restrains and began throwing chairs at the guards. Police responded to the call of the report at the school who tried to subdued the man but he continued to throw chairs at them. The officers did not have tasers with them so they shot the man in the leg to subdue him.
He was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex to be treated for his injuries. He is currently warded in the Hospital under police guard.
