Diabetics are being warned that their condition does not prevent them from being vaccinated.
In fact, their condition increases their risk of death if they contract COVID.
Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh made the comment while speaking at yesterday’s COVID Media Briefing.
With as much as 280 thousand diabetics estimated to be living in the country, He noted that the Health Ministry has put out an ad to tackle the misconception that diabetics should not take the vaccine.
Minister Deyalsingh urged diabetics and persons living with other comorbidities to heed the campaign and get vaccinated as soon as possible, before its too late.
