A 46-year-old man, of Cascade, was granted $75,000 bail with a surety when he appeared in court on a charge of cruelty to a child.
The accused was arrested and charged by officers of the Child Protection Unit (CPU) on Wednesday.
The victim, a minor, reported to officers, that his father tried feeding him but he refused to eat.
During the process, some food spilled on the ground, and while he was cleaning the floor, his father allegedly picked up a brown belt and placed it around the boy’s neck. He then dragged him from the kitchen to the dining room.
The victim said his father also kicked him.
Investigations led to the accused being arrested by officers of the CPU.
The suspect was granted bail on the condition that he has no contact with the boy.
