Da Brat and her wife Jesseca Harris-Dupart are now officially parents as they’ve announced the arrival of their newborn baby boy into the world.
According to PEOPLE, the former So So Def rapper gave birth on Thursday (July 6) in Atlanta. Speaking to the publication, she shared her initial feelings upon giving birth. “I can’t BELIEVE he came out of me!” she said. “Feels like a dream. He’s PERFECT in every way.”
Harris-Dupart also gave a statement to the outlet saying: “Very appreciative for such a blessing of our bundle of joy. This journey has been more amazing than we could’ve ever imagined.”
The baby has been named “True Legend Harris-Dupart,” but there was a short period after his birth that the couple wanted to call him “Perfect.” However, they’re sticking with True for now.
The couple have been in celebratory mode over the last few months as they prepared for the arrival of True Legend Harris-Dupart.
Back in May, they threw a twerk-friendly baby shower. At the time, Da Brat posted a series of photos and videos on Instagram from their Minions-themed party, and she thanked those that were a part of their special day — she also gave her wife a special shout-out for twerking the day away.
“Maaan I am STILL on a cloud!” Da Brat wrote in her caption. “Our little Minion baby shower was soooo BEAURRRRTIFUL. OMG From the decor to the delectable food to the decadent desserts to the FABULOUS FAMILY & FRIENDS who came out to my wife’s ass in the air twerking to the delicious specialty drinks.”
She continued: “Maaaan THEEEE BEST BABY SHOWER I’ve ever been too. (the only one l’ve ever been too) MY BEAURTIFUL @darealbbjudy and Elly B Events @ellybevents SHOWED THEE FUGG AOUT! What a way to CELEBRATE our little Miracle Drop.
“THAAANK YOU wholeheartedly to EVERYONE who loves and supports us. Everyone who came was full of love and good energy. The VIBES in this building was EXACTLY what we wanted our BABY to FEEL. Last night was NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING.”
Harris-Dupart also took to Instagram at that time to share similar sentiments and thanked their friends and family that made the day so special.
“Yesterday was our #MINION themed baby shower,” she wrote previously. “SOOOOO MUCH LOVE IN THE BUILDING. It was so much fun with friends and family … WE LOVE ALL OF YOU THAT CELEBRATED WITH US. #BabyHarrisDupart.”
The Chicago rapper first announced that she was pregnant and expecting her first child with Harris-Dupart in February. “BLESSINGS all 2023,” she captioned the pictures showcasing her baby bump in Chicago Bulls gear.
