Christine Carrington: “Omicron Variant 3 times more transmissible than Delta!”

Professor of Molecular Genetics and Virology at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Christine Carrington says that the Omicron Variant is spreading more rapidly than the Delta Variant.

Also speaking at the Ministry of Health’s Virtual Media Update this morning she said that it is spreading more rapidly than the Delta Variant.

She said according to the WHO the jury is still out on whether Omicron causes less serious illness than other variants.
