A 32-year-old man was killed instantly as a result of an accident along the northbound lane of the Uriah Butler Highway on Friday morning.
Jesse John of Bagna Trace, Chase Village, Chaguanas, died instantly when his blue coloured Honda Civic crashed into the Charlieville Walkover and a concrete post around 1:20am.
John was seen pinned in the driver’s seat of the car and a small fire was observed in the vehicle.
Officers of the Chaguanas Fire Station and the EHS arrived at the scene, and the blaze was extinguished.
However, fire officers had to cut the vehicle to free John from the wreckage, and he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
PC Huggins and other police officers from the Chaguanas Police Station are investigating the incident.
