The body of 19 year old Sanjay Soomai of El Socorro, San Juan who went missing at sea at Tyrico Bay around midday on Sunday 1st January 2023 has been found.
The body was spotted by a combined team of Hunters Search and Rescue Team led by Captain Vallence Rambharat, the Air Support Unit of the TTPS led by Ag. Inspector Ronny Rampallard, Maracas Police Officers at 9.14 am today.
It was floating about 150 metres off Maracas Bay.
Sanjay’s father, Simon Somai was notified and is currently on his way.
Hunters Search and Rescue Team maintained an overnight vigil throughout last night.
The body was retrieved by boat by the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard and is currently onshore at Tyrico Bay.
