President Paula-Mae Weekes is currently on vacation out of the country.
According to a post on the official page of the Office of the President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, President Weekes left the jurisdiction on January 3rd, 2023.
Her Excellency Christine Kangaloo is acting as President until President Weekes’s return on January 12.
President Weekes’ tenure is set to end later this month.
The electoral college is scheduled to meet on January 23, when they will vote to elect this country’s new President.
