NCRHA accused of negligence after baby dies and mother’s tubes tied without consent

The North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA) has been served with its third pre-action protocol letter.

In the letter, which was served yesterday, the attorneys at Freedom Law Chambers claim Afeisha Baker, 38, had her tubes tied on September 9, 2020, after giving birth by C-section at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.

Sadly, her daughter Miracle Augustine died five days later.

Baker, through her attorneys, is claiming negligence on the part of the NCRHA caused her only child to die.

The attorneys said Baker was motivated to step forward now after seeing other mothers stepping forward. They said Baker’s loss is compounded by the fact that she can no longer have children as her tubes were tied, a procedure done while she was “still groggy” after the C-section.
