Another one! Man robbed trying to purchase car off Facebook Marketplace

A 51-year-old man from San Fernando was scammed and robbed of cash while trying to purchase a vehicle he saw on Facebook Marketplace.

The man told police he tried to buy a Nissan Tiida valued at $28,000 from someone who gave his name as Sunil Vijay Maharaj.

They agreed to meet in Barataria near 10th Avenue.

However, when the man arrived with the cash, he was greeted by a gunman who pointed what was suspected to be a firearm towards him and demanded the cash.

The victim handed over the money and the suspect ran off.
The suspect was described as a man of mixed descent, 5 feet 9 inches tall, dark brown skin in complexion, plaits, long sharp face and a marked beard.

At the time of the incident, the bandit was wearing a long black coloured jeans, black coloured jersey and coloured sneakers.
