Services of Work Permit and Citizenship Unit suspended until May 23

The Ministry of National Security has advised that the Work Permit Secretariat and the Citizenship and Residency Unit have suspended their in-person services temporarily, until May 23rd, the final day of the current COVID-19 lockdown.

Both the Work Permit Secretariat and the Citizenship and Residency Unit are located at Temple Court 2, 52-60 Abercromby Street in Port of Spain.

According to an advisory issued by the Ministry, in-person appointments with the Immigration Division also have been suspended until that date.

The Ministry explains it is part of its efforts to comply with Government’s precautionary measures aimed at mitigating the spread of COVID-19.

The public is advised that during this period, queries to the Work Permit Secretariat will continue to be addressed via email to [email protected].

In addition, persons also can continue to communicate with the Citizenship and Residency Unit with respect to rescheduling or making appointments or with queries via telephone number (868) 623-2441-5, Extensions 13033 or 13044, Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, as well as via email at [email protected].

With regard to in-person appointments with the Immigration Division, the Ministry advises that general queries can be directed via email to [email protected], while passport-related queries can be sent to [email protected].
